So a leading women's magazine in India...what the heck...Femina... started this tweet series called #Agony Aunt and why you make a good one. It made me think am I? My friends say I listen. My mom says I dont. Oh wait,both mean differently and in different equations. So basically I seem very mature to my friends and my mom still thinks I am disobedient. My outer circle friends say I am cordial and my newspaper guy says I am pleasant 'Mademm'.
From the survey done can I conclude I am sane enough to judge other people's problems and that they can 'consult' me? WTH...now this is another problem!
Simply put, even to my closest friends I aint no Agony Aunt. Who am I to say what your husband means when he buys his mom a surprise gift and nothing for you? What can I do if your nieghbour's pet turtle sinks in the Dabur Chywanprash dabba? What am I supposed to tell you if you make out with your BFF's husband...oh sorry, with your BFF?
I am no one to give advice. I can and just want to listen.... and I know thats all you want too. Because I know you need a let out. But the moment I sit on a pedestal and shoot out words of wisdom I become a chinna SriSri SomeAss. Spare me my dear. Coz if I catch the fish for you today you will always be hungry.
Friendships are not built on the foundation of advice. Only on the basis of understanding. Yes there comes a moment when you need your friend or your family to guide you by telling you the right thing when the going gets tough. At that time every word of the advice/suggestion matters.Until then it is best to just be heard. Problems are smaller than they appear in the mirror of your mind. Eventually things work out fine...really.
But ofcourse you can give your advice on this post ;)
